Laundry Day Aboard A Man of War.
Not the image of a nations might one may care to see, but life goes on aboard a warship in the U.S. Navy. I have to believe this is laundry day as whites fly in the breeze on the Port side, as the blues fly hoisted on the Starboard (I hope I have my navy terminology down correctly).
The image is taken in front of the large gun turret looking up into the superstructure. There is a lot of detail to study here. I do not know what ship this is, and there is no photographer information. Going by the apparent color of the ship, looking rather white, I have to assume this is in the Great White Fleet period in between the Spanish American and WWI eras.
Condition is very good, the print quality is very good as well. The gray mount shows far more affect of age that the image, but that’s a good thing. The mount has some clipped corners and a few chips along the left edge.
Image size is 5×7 approximately.
