Prussian Mounted watercolor dated 1870 by a French Artist
This is one of a broken collection of military watercolors, painted by an unknown artist with the initials “A.T.” All of the watercolors were performed on paper measuring 9×12. This piece is entitled, “Prusse (1870), Train du Equipages Militaires.” Although unsigned, it is from a collection of work done by a French artist with the initials, “A.T.” as seen on other watercolors. A well executed mounted work of a Prussian soldier of the Supply Train.
The paper shows some minor age toning, extremely light foxing and soiling. Heavy shadowing due to poor lighting. Most suitable for framing.
