The silver overlay insignia, once part of an officer’s belt buckle, made into a piece of jewelry.
This 2 3/4 inch piece of insignia once was married to the main part of an officer’s buckle, but sometime after the career was over, someone turned it into a piece of jewelry, applying a pin bar and locking catch. The 5 prongs that originally held this piece onto the buckle still remain, so it could go back to its original use.
The piece has no markings, and may be heavily plated silver on brass.
It shows little wear. It may have been used as a brooch or scarf pin?
