13th Field Artillery regiment was assigned to the Hawaiian Islands in 1921, and was at Schofield Barracks when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.  The unit was redesignated the 13th FA Bn. Oct. of 1941, and was assigned to the 24th ID.  They saw service in the Pacific Theater.
