1847 List Of Clothing Camp & Garrison Equipage Received By Co. E – 1st Dragoons.
On the docket, marked as “Memorandum of Packages & Contents Marked Property E. 1st Dragoons,” a one and a half page list of Clothing, Camp and Garrison Equipage received at Fort Polk, Texas. All of the contents are listed according to the marks used on packages. Some of the odd listings are for things like 32 bedsacks, 57 jacket pins, 61 fatigue frocks, along with the commonly known uniform and accoutrement components.
The name F. G. King, MSK (Military Storekeeper) has been crossed out. Apparently this list was made because the packages arrived without invoice, which statement is recorded in the opening sentence.
A fine record of Mexican War issued clothing and other articles.
