Description
Published in New York, 1850, by Otto Boetticher, entitled “NATIONAL LANCERS / attached to the / 1st Regt. of Light Infantry, Mass State Militia.” It measures 16 1/2 x 19 1/4 inches and appears to be in original issue size. It was linen backed in the period and was once framed.
The paper shows darkness caused by the acidity of the wood and paper while in the original framing. There is some light staining in areas and one small tear outside of the scene and below the green border.
The scene has the Lancers on horseback gathered around a conference of officers in the foreground. They are wearing the original pattern of uniform when first organized in 1836.
Keeping the price reasonable to allow for restoration work.
Photographed in the plastic wrapper and styrofoam board.
