Offering a sweet, fine to excellent Colt Navy manufactured in 1862, serial number 130653.
An excellent Colt revolver with a 7 1/2 inch barrel and having the New York City Address. All matching numbers and retaining a great deal of original finish, mixed with a plum patina (mixing with blue on the barrel).
Strong case colors on frame and lever. The cylinder amazingly retains most of the original blue, and the engraved naval battle scene is strong. Cylinder stops overall are fine +.
The hammer case colors are fine. Back strap has traces of silver plate and butt retaining most of the silver. War production Colt’s had very thin silver plating anyway. The trigger guard still has most of its silver. Screws still retain very good blue as well. The varnished walnut grips are fine-exc. Small letter “E” marked beneath four main serial numbers, perhaps set aside for possible engraving job.
Excellent mechanics, lines are strong showing little wear. The barrel blue has flaked more so on the left side, and most likely due to being in a holster, etc. The underlying metal has a nice plum blue color and blends nicely to give a solid looking color overall. With a bit more blue on the barrel this Colt would rvalue close to 5 figures.
A fine Civl War Colt Navy revolver!
