Description

1885 Light Artillery Musician’s Dress Coat.

A scarce coat due to the fact that only two companies of artillery regiments were used as light artillery, most in garrison at coastal fortifications. There appear to be no visible stamps on the inside lining or within sleeve lining. All the buttons are 1885 General Service pattern. The buttons are set back to the points showing this was a federally used coat.

There are some threads remaining where buttons had been moved at some point, probably used on a larger maniquin perhaps.

Color of the scarlet herringbone and trim is excellent, and sporadic moth tracking which is hardly visible in only a few area.

A honest coat in fine condition.

The 1872 Light Artillery Saber belt is not included.
