Fine condition scarce Prison Guard cap insignia for the 1st Company of Guards.
This cap insignia was worn by all enlisted personnel from 1906-1916. The initials “PG” were replaced in 1915 with “DBG” (Disciplinary Barracks Guard) but the “PG” continued to be used, with the new pattern never being issued to some companies. This insignia bears the number “1” for the 1st Company.
1 13/16 inches long. Pin back with open catch.
Fine gilt and silver finishes.
