A rare veterinarian insignia worn prior to becoming part of the Medical Corps in 1916.
Another rare collar insignia, this being a 1907-1916 period Field Artillery Veterinarian for the 1st Regiment. The numeral is gilt, and the veterinarian winged horse shoe and hoof, are a silver colored metal. Prior to veterinarians becoming part of the Medical Corps in 1916, they wore this insignia in this fashion.
This is insignia that just does not show up with any regularity. From a 50 year collection.
40mm wide, 80+ % gilt remaining. Sew-on loops.
