Description
23rd Infantry Officer’s Bullion Forage Cap Insignia, made on a dark blue wool background, now showing some age fading (photo flash washed out the color some- looks darker in person). Combination of gold bullion thread and twisted wire used for the rifle barrels; wide brass strips used for barrel bands, certainly a nice variant .
No history just a nice piece from the late Indian Wars era, possibly up to the Spanish War era.
Very good condition.
