A great early artillery- ammunition train related insignia for the 2nd Division.
The 2nd Ammunition Train distinctive insignia was approved on 13 December, 1923, and with the early versions of this insignia beside the red enameled background, the metal finish was either bronze or gilt. This insignia has the former bronze finish. Shot tongs grasping a shell embellished with a well fashioned indian at the center.
No hallmark on this large type insignia.
Very good condition, in strong condition, but in its period of use the pin back was replaced with a screw back post and thumb nut.
A great looking DUI.
