- Made by Caxton, Fifth Avenue, New York, and also marked Herman Frederick, Ranch Supplies Inc, 797 8th Ave., N.Y.
- Guy Madison signed the hat inside on the lining, “Guy Madison, Dusty Trails.”
- The hat is a rich gray felt with a thin band of gray silk around the base of the hat. The hat show slight wear and some fading from light over the years on display. There is one moth hole toward the front brim that could be repaired but not that bad as it is.
- There is a certificate of authenticity that came from the autograph company R & R Enterprises. They state that originally there was a hat box which has become separated from the hat.
- The certificate reads that, “the hat was obtained from the Rogers Ranch Roost Restaurant in Ridgefield, Ct. where it had been on display for several years, Madison frequented the restaurant and gave the hat to its owners.”
- Guy Madison starred in many Hollywood western movies, but perhaps is best remembered for his roll as Wild Bill Hickok, on the early TV westerns that ran for 113 episodes.
- He was married briefly to actress Gail Russell.
