2nd CAC Provision Regiment Adjutant’s collar insignia from the Borrell Collection.
Bailey, Banks, & Biddle (Philadelphia), 2nd Coast Artillery Corps adjutant’s collar Insignia. This is the pattern 1905, worn into the WWII era. Marked on the reverse, “BRONZE / BB& B.” This piece has a locking ring catch of the WWI era, like several other jeweler/ insignia makers insignia.
The CAC from 1901 to 1917 were numbered in companies, and during WWI as provisional regiments until 1924. The style of the locking ring places this piece in my opinion in the WWI era.
Fine condition. Nice even polished bronze finish.
From the Robert Borrell Collection. He paid $200.00 for this in 2008.
