Description

This nice set of dress knots was made by Bent & Bush, Boston for The Oak Hall Clothing Co. of the same city.  Made in the late Indian Wars to Spanish War period. Found in the original box, which has been repaired by a previous collector.

The knots are have the staff black background with bullion major’s insignia, and applied gilt brass Inspector General’s insignia.  Massachusetts buttons.  The gilt cording is in very good condition with age toning.

A black paper covered box has the clothier’s label in gold.  Seams on the upper section have been repaired as well as more serious bends and tears on the lower. Still, great to have the original container.  Well display nicely.

A scarcer set of dress epaulets for this staff corps officer.

Very good – fine condition.
