Description
The Campaigns Of The British Army At WASHINGTON AND NEW ORLEANS In The Years 1814-1815. By The Author Of The Subaltern (George R. Cleig), Fourth Edition, Corrected and Revised. LONDON: John Murray, 1836. Full Calf (old rebinding), 389 pages, no illustrations.
The author was a British chaplain serving in America during the War of 1812, particularly during these campaigns around Washington and New Orleans. Some reviews of the book rate it highly, and also mention Cleig’s dislike for the Americans. A good source of historical reading on the later part of America’s Second War of Independence.
Condition is fine; with an old rebinding in full calf, finished in gilt edging, and lettering on spine. Leather shows some minor scuffing, heavier on corners and spine. Tight book and clean inside the covers.
