A fine image of Lt. Densmore of Company “K”, 30th Wisconsin Infantry, who was commissioned in October of 1862. His company saw service on the Upper Missouri River as guards for General Sully’s Indian Expedition, which left Sioux City, Ia to Fort Pierre, Dakota T.
The regiment remained in the state over of the winter of 1863-64, and received orders in March to join the Indian Expedition in the Dakotas. Densmore resigned his commission on April 4th of 1864.
