Standing in a Napoleonic posture; hand in coat, this officer holds a wide brimmed hat.
A newer pencil inscription on the back of this image reads, “Bedford, Co.? Penna.” There being no information as to the officer or photographer, this is the only lead I have.
This older company grade officer stands in a Napoleon like stance with his hand placed within his frock. he is armed with sword. His sash suspends from the other side of the waist, and he hold a very wide brimmed hat that may have been a natural colored wool felt.
The upper corners of the mount have been clipped, yet the image is in fine condition.
A great wartime shot.
