Colonel of the 65th New York Volunteers, and was then promoted to Brigadier General in July 1862 during the Peninsular Campaign. He resigned due to poor health after the Battle of Fredericksburg and returned to New York state politics after his military service.

In excellent condition.
The bottom left corner is creased, light blemishing, previous collectors wrote ID on the backside.
