Description

Without an identification, this most likely is a 2nd Ohio Volunteer cavalryman, taken by “REEVE & WATTS, Columbus, O.”  He is wearing a shell jacket with short collar, saber belt without cross shoulder strap, and holding his drawn saber (possibly the 1840 pattern). His forage cap beside him has the number “2” above the chinstrap.

Very good condition with some sporadic stains, soiling.

Nice clear image.
