Description

The Garibaldi Guards of San Francisco, were formed in April of 1865. Hand tinted image of soldier holding the Italian flag, and his rifled musket with bayonet.  A mention of the formation of this unit was found in the Sacramento Union.

Hand tinted shows a uniform consisting of a double breasted shirt of red wool, medium blue trousers, and a red forage cap.
