A very scarce pair of CBI theater insignia in excellent condition.
Very Scarce CBI theater made pair of bullion on wool Army Air Corps enlisted mans collar insignia. Made on a worsted wool in a light shade of OD, the disks have heavy double twisted bullion wire, with a fine gilt twisted wire for inside and outside borders. The “U.S.” and “wings & prop” use this same method. Each one of the insignia have applied the male snaps for mounting on the collars. There is a slight difference in thickness of the bullion; the wool being the same, I believe these were made in the same shop, batched, and one of each pulled when ordered. I see it most unlikely that one could make a pair given all the elements here.
There is no soldier history with these.
Approximately 31-32mm diameter.
An absolutely fabulous pair of WWII theater made bullion insignia!
From the Robert Borrell Artillery Collection.
