Civil War Ruby Ambrotype – Private Holding “P”Guard Saber & Colt Pocket Tucked In Belt.  The insignia on the crown of the forage cap has number and letter with cross cannons.  This is probably an early war image with his family’s old saber that hung over the fireplace, or it is a studio prop. He stands before a painted studio backdrop.

This ruby ambrotype  is in fine condition.  The leatherette case is very good with some wear along the spine and corners.
