Description

Connecticut Union Volunteer & Substitute Association Card, with Headquarters in Hartford.  Advertised on the card that they furnished recruits and substitute men to serve in the military for others not wishing to serve.  This was a legal matter that required money and documentation that this association furnished to those individuals not wanting to wear the uniform.
