This communique was issued from Allied Force Head Quarters, by the Supreme Commander of the Mediterranean Theatre, H.L. Alexander, stating that “Final victory is near…..German Forces are now very Groggy and need only one punch to knock them out for good.” Issued in April 1945.

Interesting to note that at this same time SS General Karl Wolff was in negotiations with the Allied High Command to secretly surrender all German Forces to the Allies in Italy, realizing that Germany would lose the War and hoping to broker a better deal for himself.
