Description
The pose is utterly fantastic! Take away the American uniform, and he looks like a British Lancer of the Light Brigade in the Crimea. This un-named officer of light artillery is on super piece of photography, and the hand coloring has only enhanced its important.
Minus a few accoutrement on the belt, his uniform is nearly complete. Condition of the image itself is fine, the back shows heavy tape residue from having been poorly mounted in frame (maybe this one). Photograph by Bendann Brothers, Baltimore.
An interesting note, and I don’t know if you can see it in the photo of the cdv’s reverse side is the date and price the collector paid for this, August /2009…$250.00
