This photograph was taken after 1904 as many of these soldiers are wearing 1st Class Gunner’s badges for field artillery. Most of the men are wearing the dress uniform for 1902, with a few in service dress. The guidon clearing shows this to be Battery “E”, 1st U.S. Field Artillery. Taken at Fort Snelling, Mn.
