Written by William H. Seward.
LIFE And Public Services Of JOHN QUINCY ADAMS, Sixth President Of The United States, With Eulogy Delivered Before The Legislature Of New York. By William H. Seward, AUBURN: Derby, Miller And Company, 1849. Hardcover, embossed black cloth, gilt lettering on spine and page edges. 404 pages, foxed frontispiece, Ex-libris from old local town library.
The condition is very good, tight and largely free of foxing beyond title page. Spine chipped, light cover fading and wear to edges. Rules and regulations pasted on inside flyleaf from 1890s, and signs of file card at rear, with Discard stamps on flyleaves as well, nothing done to title page.
A excellently researched work by another famous politician, statesman, and Abraham Lincoln cabinet appointee, John H. Seward.
