This lot of 4 buttons came from a collection recently, and were obtain from Frank Kravic’s Collection.  Mr. Kravic, along with George C. Neumann co-authored the “Collector’s Encyclopedia of the American Revolution.”  None of these came with any association to a site, but examples of dug buttons accumulated by Frank Kravic over the years.

The top two buttons are approximates the same size measuring 22mm & 23mm (l to r).  The lower two; 24mm & 18mm (l to r).  The upper left is two piece, the upper surface may be iron, the lower a bright metal?. Next to it is a one piece convex polished brass but that has a military look, no markings.  The lower left is pewter one piece with bevelled edge, cast marks on back.  The last one, a small pewter cuff, vest, small coat sized button.  No markings.

A nice sample lot that needs further research.
