The framed signature is for Daniel Montague, one of the men chosen by Lt. Hobson to help sink the U.S. Merrimac in the Santiago Channel to bottle up the Spanish fleet during the Santiago campaign in 1898.
Included on the small piece of paper that is signed is a nib.
The paper has some light fading and blemishing.
The frame was wear and the glass is intact.
On the back is a small wire and is ready to display.
Also with the framed signature is an image of Lt. Hobson on the front side of a Fairbank’s Fairy Soap advertisement card.
