1920s chrome/ nickel plated brass award for field artillery.
This particular un-official artillery award is mentioned in William H. Emerson’s book, “Marksmanship in the U.S. Army.” page 92. Emerson identifies this piece as being made in the 1920s, and possibly being used by army unit(s) in the Philippines, ROTC. I have listed another similar to this that is marked on the brooch, “CRACK BATTERY,” otherwise identical.
The brooch is 52mm long; the crossed cannons are applied to the wreath.
Condition is excellent.
