Description
WWII Era USN Officer’s Blue Cover. Commander/Captain grade with acorns and oak leaves on the visor. Finely embroidered work also on the high relief eagle and crossed anchors in both gold and silver bullion.
Made by Bancroft, marked “ZEPHYR” brand on sweatband. Rattan construction on base. The sweatband bunches up some, but when placed in a hat form, all correctly conforms to the right size of sweatband in relation to cap/eagle insignia mohair band. A few minor wear spots on mohair band, (see photos). No Id.
Approximately a size 7 1/8-1/4.
