Written in pencil on the reverse, “2nd Arty Co. F/ Came from NYS Family Album.” So we must conclude this may be a private in the 2nd New York Heavy Artillery. He wears a frock coat and has his insignia embellish forge cap on the table beside him.
The photographer info is not printed on back, but this private was photographed in front of a great painted back drop of a Civil War camp scene with American flag flying.
Some soiling, but overall very good.
