Description
23rd New York National Guard Cufflinks In Case.
Contained in the original case of purple velvet with buff silk and velvet lining and has some wear to the outside. These cufflinks are Sterling hallmarked on the shafts of each piece. The enamel is in very good condition overall, with just a few small areas of light crackling to the surface, and some flaking on one of the cufflinks (see photo). Colors are blue and white with silver lettering.
Around the perimeter of each it reads, “* VIGILANTIA * N.G.S.N.Y.” These cufflinks have the look being from the late 19th- early 20th Centuries.
The 23rd New York Regiment was established in 1862, in Brooklyn, New York, and still in existence today.
