Presentation Photograph from Brigadier General Campbell King, 1924. This image was presented to then Colonel Stanley H. Ford. General King writes, “To my old friend and Comrade Col Stanley Ford from Yours faithfully Campbell King / Corregidor, P.I. April, 1924.”
General King is wearing his tropicals, and a three ribbon bars bearing evidence to a long and distinguished career to his date of 1924. A career army officer who served in the Spanish American War, the Boxer Rebellion and WWI (1st Division is where he probably met Gen. Ford). He began is career as a cavalry private in 1897, and by 1905 was attending the Infantry & Cavalry School, would retire a major general in 1933. He commanded the Cavalry School for a time as well. A great biography. From the Gen. Ford Collection.
A nice portrait that is 7 x 10 inches approx. and overall 8.5 x 13 inches,
Very good with one stain on margin.
