Consolidated Morning Report – 1st Regt. Pa. Light Artillery.  Dated 16 February, 1862 at Camp Key West, Florida. This document lists the officers and the number of men in each company.  The 1st Pa Light Artillery, commanded by Major Robert M. West, and was part of the 1st Penn. Reserve Artillery.

Robert M. West enlisted in July of 1861 as a captain commanding Battery G, 1st Penn LA., and rose to the rank of colonel by July of the next year.  He remained with the unit until May of 1864 when he transferred to the 5th Penn. Cavalry, and mustered out in August of 1865 at Richmond, Va.  Near the close of the war he received a brevet commission to brevet brigadier general.  Both of his units saw action during the war.
