Description
1890 – 96 Medical Department Doctor’s Shoulder Knot Panels.
A scarce pair of insignia for the Medical Department used from 1890 to 1896. These were no doubt removed with this Assistant Surgeon was promoted (his pay grade as a 1st Lieutenant). The gold bullion shield and 1st lieutenant’s rank are directly embroidered to the black wool backgrounds.
They measure 3 x 4 inches. and in fine condition with a minor tear on one edge.
