Military Pass Issued by Headquarters 2nd Division Department of the Ohio signed by Brigadier General Daniel McCook.  Made out at Camp Stanton on March 31, 1862 permitting Capt Hoblitzell an officer on Gen’l McCook’s Staff at will.  Signed as Assitant Adjutant General on is brother’s staff (Major General Alexander McCook).  This pass was dated a week before the Battle of Shiloh.

William T. Hobitzell enlisted in 1861 as a 1st lieutenant in the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry. He was later promoted to LtCol. in the 5th Kentucky Cavalry.
