Description
CDV Of Captain Howard Bassett 24th New Jersey Volunteers, signed, “Howard Bassett / Capt. Compan….” (“..y A” missing due to clipped corner. Photographed by Brady’s National Photographic Portrait Galleries, New York.
Bassett enlisted as captain in April of 1861, into company I, 4th New Jersey Infantry, and mustered out in July of that year. Again enlisted in September of 1862 as captain, company A, 24th New Jersey Infantry, mustering out in June of 1863.
He saw action at Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville.
Very good condition with clipped corners, and some spotting.
