Description
Circa 1840s – 50s Militia Waist Belt With Frog.
The belt was stenciled on the back side with the name “FRANKLIN.” The belt fastens by the use of a small leather strap and buckle, the buckle being in a horseshoe shape and having black japanning. The enameled leather finish is crackled from dryness and age. The frog is made of black bridle leather, and has some punch decoration on the front only, and it two show dryness and crackling, mostly on the front.
Overall in very good condition. The size adjustment strap is broken at the tip.
