Cabinet Photo of ID’d 4th Mass Cavalry Bandsman.
This cabinet is signed by Herbert J. Brown, a bandsman in the 4th Mass Cavalry. The image was taken around 1880’s by Jenness Studios, Clinton, Mass. Brown is wearing the prescribed uniform for the bandsmen of this regiment. He his standing before a well painted backdrop of a camp scene by a lake.
Brown mustered into the regiment in January of 1864, and mustered out at Richmond, Va, in November of 1865.
Very good condition, with a small chip out of the right upper edge of the mount.
