Super Illustrated Colt Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company Letterhead -1876.

This is a great example of the post Civil War letterhead showing the Colt Armory in Hartford, Ct. dated April 5, 1876.  The upper quarter of the letter illustrated not only with the factory/ armory, but other vignettes such as a Root Carbine, eagle, and crossed Colt Root revolvers.

The letter was written to Adams Nickel Plating Company, South Windham, Ct. who Colt wants to plate a number of revolver parts; including barrels, frames, cylinders, etc.  for single action revolvers.  Colt employee mentions at the last, “Please plate and return the above at once as we are in a great hurry for them.  I don’t know who the individual is that wrote this.

Condition is fine.  A great display piece.  This item sold in 2018 for more than double this price.
