Description
CDV- Captain Henry C. Symonds 2nd U.S. Artillery.
Henry Clay Symonds graduated from the USMA Class of 1853. Assigned to the 2nd U.S. Artillery, then transferred to the Commissary of Subsistence as a capt in 1861, to major. Had brevets for ltcol. and colonel at the end of the war.
This image records on the lower portion on the reverse that Symonds CDV is from General Alexander S. Webb’s Album.
A nice early war image of Symonds in his full dress uniform while in the 2nd U.S. Artillery.
