Description
Section Of B-17/ B-24 Bomber Fuselage With 13 Hand Painted Mission Bombs. The OD green painted aluminum section measures 34 inches long. Each of the bombs, representing missions for this particular bomber are 5 5/8 inches high, made with a paint brush using a pre-made stencil.
Because this section was trimmed all around, I am assuming this was all this bomber had for missions. Most likely this section was taken by a souvenir hunter from the crew after the bomber had either crashed landed at home base, or was scraped.
Manufacturer printing on the reverse, ” ALCLAD 245-T / ALCOA Reg T.M. (repeated continuously).” No other history. Purchase from a collector who purchased this item in 2007.
A super, graphic display piece for the WWII Army Air Forces collection.
In relic, but in very good condition
