Maine Militia Coatee & Two Chapeau De Bras Identified to Thomas R. Copeland, Brewer Light Infantry. This group came in just recently. Consists of this blue wool coat, and photographed a later militia chapeau with the owners name on a piece of paper.  There is another earlier chapeau with this group that has the same Maine “star” button on it.

The coatee was worn by a large man for the era.  Made of blue wool with gilt trim, some typical moth damage, but nothing glaring. 40 Maine  gilt coat, and 4 smaller buttons at cuff opening.

The earlier chapeau is getting some minor restoration done, but will be exhibited with this grouping at the up-coming Maryland Arms show in mid March.
