Circa 1830s Weymouth Light Infantry Painted Knapsack, Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Circa 1830s Weymouth Light Infantry Painted Knapsack, Weymouth, Massachusetts. The knapsack is painted black with red lettering with the same red used for the starburst containing the initials of “LI,” with yellow used to highlight.  Leather shoulder straps appear to be complete.  I have not opened the case, and truly believe it is complete on the reverse, (due to the straps are attached to canvas.  Paint shows wear overall.  If I were keeping this for myself, I would have restoration done to the painted surface of the knapsack, it being folk art, and really not requiring much work.

The knapsack is currently displayed in a framed glass case measuring 20 x20 x 2 inches.  I will ship without the frame is so desired.
