Cased Sterling Royal Air Force Sweetheart Wings- SOLD

Description

Marked Sterling wings of the WWII era, with pin back having an open catch.  Nicely detailed wings with red and blue enamel used for accent color in the King’s Crown, and the “RAF” superimposed on center wreath.

The rich dark calf leather casing has a decorative floral gilt border on the edge, and similar gilt working on the inside of lid edges and main lower portion edges.  Upper silk lining bears the name of the maker, “W. A. Perry & Co., Birmingham.”

Wings are 54mm long; case is 3 3/8 inches long.

Excellent condition.
