1858 USS Susquehanna Cap Tally Connected To A Section of Trans-Atlantic Cable SOLD

The USS Susquehanna, and USS Niagara, along with HMS Agamemnon, along with several other ships helped in the mission to lay down the Trans-Atlantic telegraph cable in 1858.  The sailor’s cap tally,  one who obviously served aboard the USS Susquehanna is approximately 20 inches long, and has a section of the cable attached, along with an old tag (incomplete), reading, “Piece of the Atlantic …” The other images in the main picture are downloaded images.

A nice association piece of communication / naval history.
