Description
This WWII fully machine embroidered 1st Infantry Division patch might be English made. It has a 1/8 of an inch border, and a solid green back (maybe American made, but it has a much different fell, and look). The G.I. or tailor took light tan thread and stitched around the border (with an outer stitches that lock each loop), and a triple woven stitching in white thread around the “1.” This work was performed before putting on the uniform. I believe this patch never was sewn on.
3 3/4 inches
