25th Army Corps Badge With “T-bar” Pin -SOLD

25th Army Corps Badge –  The stamped tin with two square loops has a “T -Bar pin mounted on the reverse for placing on the frock coat or forage cap.  Black paint is used within the squares. This type is seem in the Corps Badge book by Stanley Philips on page 101, with a T-bar pin applied.  It measures an inch square, and has an untouched patina.

The 25th AC, of the Department of Virginia, and later the Dept. of Texas, was active from February of 1865 to January of 1866.  The Corps were made up of 30,000 some black soldiers.

A scarce badge.
